Kateřina Stupecká graduated from the Duncan Centre Conservatory in 2007. She spent part of her studies at Fontys Dance academy in the Netherlands and she also participated on a dance internship at Déja Donné dance company in Italy and in France under Jean Gaudin guidance. She has created several chorographies of her own ( Like Glass, Da Capo, Sunyata, Chaos Theory, Joker). The piece Da Capo was awarded the second prize at Jarmila Jeřábková´s competition within the Festival of New Europe 2008 and the SAZKA Prize for “discovery in dance” in 2009. Her choreographies were twice nominated for the Dance Piece of the Year award at the Czech Dance Platform festival. Kateřina studies dance choreografy at HAMU (Music Academy of Performing Arts) and leeds lectures of dance. Together with Film Faculty students and within the seminar led by David Hinton/DV8 Physical Theatre, she collaborated on a creation of a dance film Joker, based on her latest choreografy. Kateřina is member of DOT504 dance company and Formans Obludarium Brother.
